AFAIK, the AT89C51RC is actually a newer chip than the AT89C51Rx2 as a straightforward replacement for the venerable AT89C5x chips developed and it has little in common (chosen IMO unfortunately (or deliberately confusing)) with AT89C51Rx2 line, with the exception.
